How we treat ferry data

Ferry networks change constantly. Services can be seasonal, suspended, relaunched, moved to another port or taken over by another operator. We therefore do not treat FerryRoutes as a static list.

PlannedAnnounced or uncertain future services.

Smaller and historical crossings stay in the database where they help explain the network. When something changes, we would rather correct the status than erase useful route history.

Links & booking partners

Where useful, FerryRoutes links to ferry operators and ticket or comparison partners. Some booking links are affiliate links, so FerryRoutes may receive a commission when a traveller books.

Commercial relationships do not determine whether a route is shown as active, inactive, planned or historical.
