About FerryRoutes

I, Jochem, started this project, but the real inspiration came from my colleagues behind Ferrygogo.com, one of the largest and most comprehensive ferry guides in the world. (Ferrygogo.com)

How we work: Links and partnerships

Please note that some links on this site are affiliate links to ticket partners. This means that when you book a ferry or service through platforms like Ferryhopper or Direct Ferries, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. These commissions help support the maintenance of this site, ensuring we can continue providing valuable content and services. We only recommend services we’ve vetted and believe will benefit our users. Most of the time ( not always!) it’s best to book on the operator’s website. Companies like Ferryhopper and Directferries are great at comparing and combining multiple tickets.

Ferryroutes.com is on a mission to map every (old and new) ferry route in the world on a filter-rich website. That’s it!

We start with the large international connections that move millions of passengers each year, and step by step, we expand toward smaller regional and local routes.

We are currently already at 2.000 3000 ports and 10.000 12.000 routes. While we focus on new routes, we also want to list all the old & abandoned ferry routes, something that’s not currently available. ALso we want to list smaller ferries where possible.

💪 Help us move forward

There are quite a few things you can do!

  • Simply bookmark (ctrl + D) this site, follow our updates and come back regulary.
  • Use our website 🙂
  • Reference -old, wrong and abandoned- sources to us, sites like wikipedia and wikivoyage are behind on this topic, sometimes it helps to mention this project. Ps. Don’t do this if it doesn’t add value to the website you mention us on.
  • Tell us which maps are wrong, while we earlier had a functionally to help us with the mapping, we changed it into a feedback form, small mistakes we will eventually pick up in our screenings, however knowing wich regions are very weak is the input that helps us in the best way.
  • Talk about us!
  • Follow our topic on The Ferry Forums. (This project)
  • You can find more about me and follow me on Quora or on the Ferry Forums.
